Hmm Binus Cup V is over. There are so many lessons that I get for participating that event. We, all the committees had been prepared this spectacular event from we were in year 10! It was not easy preparing this event. I faced so many difficulties when I was doing this event. I was a sponsorship member team. My partner was Ega and Hasan. But, I don’t know why Hasan started looking for sponsor first without asking ega and me. So, Ega and me decided to work together without him. That was my first difficulty that I faced. I found it so hard because we didn’t what should we do. We were afraid to come to the office company. But we kept on trying and finally proved it by getting one company. We only get 7/11. They were offering us to do barter. But unfortunately the committee member didn’t want to do barter. I felt guilty because I didn’t get any money to help our event. As a member of sponsorship team, I’ve got a lot of lessons from there, for example how to manage time because we need to make an appointment, how to talk with adult, how to get their sponsor, how to reject them, and so on.
After that, I tried to help Hasan to make a rundown for closing, looking for the guest stars/ artists to perform on the closing day, bargaining with the other parties, make a contract letter, communicate with adult, work collaboratively because I faced some conflicts between me and someone.
When Binus Cup was held, I’ve chosen to become a desk officer for futsal. Sometimes, when there was no futsal competition I became an usher or help the ticketing people. From that I also got some lessons. Now, I know deeper about futsal and how hard to be a desk officer. Being desk officer sometimes made me feel like I am one of the luckiest spectators because I can see from the best angle so I saw the best view. But it was also hard to control my emotion while I watched my favourite team, because as a desk officer we need to be neutral; I also had to kept my eyes on the games to see who’s the goal maker and trouble maker.
There are so many other lessons that I get from this event, but know I only can write that. I hope next year the next batch will make a better Binus Cup and learn from the previous committee’s experiences. so whats the next?
